Shulamis Peltz joined Jacob Laufer P.C. as an associate in 2008. Ms. Peltz’s practice focuses on white-collar criminal defense litigation and investigations, and complex commercial litigation.
Ms. Peltz’s experience encompasses every aspect of preparing a case, beginning with pre-trial investigation and continuing through appeals. Ms. Peltz’s involvement includes motion practice, managing discovery and preparing parties, witnesses and experts for trial. Ms. Peltz also represents clients at trial, pre-trial, hearing, and plea and sentencing phases, in both federal and state trial and appellate courts.
Before joining Jacob Laufer P.C., Ms. Peltz worked as an associate at the international law firm of Pearl Cohen Zedek Latzer LLP and at a litigation boutique in New York City. While at these firms, Ms. Peltz handled complex commercial litigation, real estate litigation, intellectual property contracts and licensing, and corporate law.
While in law school, Ms. Peltz clerked as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Harold Baer, Jr., U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, worked as a Legal Intern in the Trial Bureau of the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, and served as a Teaching Assistant in an Advanced Trial Advocacy seminar at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law of Yeshiva University.
Ms. Peltz graduated from Touro College, magna cum laude, and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law of Yeshiva University with a General Litigation Concentration, and having received the Order of the Barristers award. As an editorial board member of the Moot Court Honor Society, Ms. Peltz coached her team members in International Law and Evidence Moot Court Competitions. While in law school, Ms. Peltz trained in the Intensive Trial Advocacy Program directed by Barry Scheck, Esq., and in Appellate Advocacy with Michael Ross, Esq.
In her free time, Ms. Peltz enjoys volunteering for community outreach programs. Ms. Peltz lives in Brooklyn, NY.
